From a heat exchanger standpoint, electric heaters play a different role in the fact that they heat a fluid like a traditional heat exchanger by using electrical heat. Therefore there is no heat balance from one side to another as you would have with other heat exchanger types. This forces a stretch of diciplines, a mixing of two worlds, where a Mechanical or Chemical person needs to stretch to understand electrical properties or an Electrical person needs to understand heat transfer. This is not easy. At Delta T Heat Exchangers (Heat Transfer People) we have partnered with Gaumer Process Heaters (Electrical Heat Exchanger People) to bridge this gap and make sense of a process heating application with electric heaters.

Electric Heaters are products applied to an application. They need to be sized, controlled and maintained properly to continue to operate properly in that application.
|
Industrial Electric Heaters have many applications in the Refining, Power, Pulp and Paper, Food, Gas Engine and Gas Compression Industries as well as many varied applications in generaql process industries. Many Electric Heaters in industrial applications such as; Flanged Heaters, Immersion Heaters, Circulation Heaters and Hot Oil Systems may not be designed, selected or manufactured specifically for the application where they operate. Many Electric Heaters are of commercial grade which is not necessarily the grade of heater to be installed in a process that requires dependability and long life. Gaumer Process Heaters does not manufacture commercial grade heaters - their customers are mainly running important processes that rely on the the Industrial Electric heater to be; leak tight, properly sealed to prevent moisture inclusion and sized appropriately for the process.
