Pillow plates surfaces are a fully welded and inflated type heat exchangers that are manufactured by stacking two flat sheets of material and fuse welding them together with a strategically positioned welding pattern. The plates can be resistance welded or laser welded.Pillow Plate heat exchangers are used in heating and cooling applications where it is preferred that the heat exchanger be integral to the process rather pumping a fluid to an external heat exchanger. Pillow Plate heat exchangers is the most common name in the industry for this type of exchanger although they are also referred to as; inflated dimple plate, Platecoil, Econoplate, Temp-Plate, and Laser-Plate. These units can be designed to ASME and can be provided with a CRN.
